Diecember Blog Hop | 2 Techniques to Try with Dies

Hi there! Welcome to my stop of the super inspiring Simon Says Stamp Diecember Release Blog hop. You should have arrived here from Lea Lawson’s blog. Now I know you are at the tail end of this inspirational blog hop, but I hope you stay since Simon is very generously awarding a $25 gift card to their store. So scroll to the bottom and leave a comment 🙂

Now I have 2 techniques that are SUPER easy and you must try with your dies. I am using ONE die for both of my cards, the newest release called Stylized Angel is an intricate die that can be used for more than just Christmas cards, just see below.

TECHNIQUE #1 — HEAT EMBOSSING PARTIAL CUTS

So, I decided that this die was just too pretty but I need somewhere to add my foam adhesive, so I left the inner part of the angle, pressed the whole thing onto my SSS embossing pad and covered the whole thing with Copper Embossing powder. Once that was heat set, I added a sentiment from You Got This stamp set in the same Copper Embossing Powder.  The whole card was incredibly easy to make and as you can see it is not a Christmas or Holiday Card.

TECHNIQUE # 2 — PARTIAL CUT WITH COLORING

So, this angel has the prettiest features that it soooo needed coloring. I pulled out my Copics and did some very basic coloring. My background cardstock is on a DIY repetitive background of snowflakes from the Christmas Cheer stamp set and sentiment from Thankful Flowers stamp set.  I added just a little bit of Nuvo drops on the dress.

Super easy right?! I have added all the products I used down below. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Again be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of the many $25 gift cards.

Your next stop is Betty Wright
