Hi there. Crystal Thompson here today have a farmhouse-inspired watercolor card for my color combos Tuesday blog post! I am so excited to be creating with this color combination as it’s super airy and fresh. I can pretty much smell the clean air coming off these babies. šŸ˜‰

Anyways, today’s color combination is a set of greens, browns, and light yellow then the whole thing is embellished with a soft gray Nuvo drops.

Today’s stamp is the newest Uniquely Unity Membership stamp calledĀ  YOU GROW GIRL.

To begin I have stamped these on Neenah 110 lb cardstock using a black watercolor friendly ink. Then I grabbed my Zig Clean Color Markers and watercolor each image using variations of greens to make the leaves much more realistic. I found that if I was having a hard time finding the combination of greens I just googled watercolor plants and was able to find inspiration for color combinations and patterns. Once the plant coloring was completed I moved on to the plant pots and used 2 colors of brown to make the shading look more realistic. Once it was all dried up, I went ahead and used my favorite scissors to hand cut the images. If you are short on time, grab the SVG file, and have your machine cut them for you.

As I waited for everything to fully dry, I grabbed a background die and sent it through my Gemini Die-cutting machine using WHITE cardstock to keep the whole thing clean and simple.

Then using Scattered Straw Distress Oxide and a blender brush, I added a soft circle of color to the die-cut.

Now, it’s time to put the whole thing together. Using foam adhesive I placed the plants trying to layer the leaves, added the sentiment, and topped the whole thing with a lovely translucent Nuvo Drops in Gray Mist.

Thank you so much for joining me today on color combos with Crystal.

See you next week!
